The poster presented is created by a combination of trash pictures on google slides. Alex filled up American society with trash, expressing that capitalism/consumerism produces massive amounts of waste.
Alex thought climate change due to social structure is an interesting point of view. She wanted express her interests and understanding of the relationship between climate change and social structure.
“Dirty White Trash (With Gulls)”, by Tim Noble and Sue Webster is an art piece that is made out of trash. It reminded Alex about the amount of trash humans produce as a society. So she thought it would be great if she used trash to make her art work to express the amount of trash that is produced due to capitalism/consumerism.
The amount of trash that is produced due to social structure is massive. Trash is so easy to find in people's normal life, that it can be used as the material for arts.
The biggest reason that the massive amount of trash produced is because of capitalist society, which encourages consumerism. Consumerism caused the huge amount of CO2 production, decreasing the ozone concentration and leading to global warming.
