Corinne’s piece aims to articulate a sense of reintegration and connectedness with nature locally. This concept takes connectivity at its core in highlighting the expanse of urbanity and its rewilding landscape.
To capture this, Corinne took pictures to form a black and white collage as a medium to depict biodiversity thriving in small areas around the city in its innate ability to survive and flourish.
Cities, in their vast expanse of concrete and metal, have a tendency to bury and hide the underlying landscape that they are built on.
This piece challenges how far-reaching the influence of “urbanity” truly is and unpeels the layers of the rewilding urban landscape within which nature thrives.
This focus on the juxtapositions in the more-than-human Anthropocene attempts to visualize the entire worlds and ecosystems that are created when nonhuman entities get tangled up within human infrastructure.
These “feral ecologies” are often too small or large for unaided vision, and this refocus is the end goal of this piece.
