This piece is a PSA collage which addresses the issue of over consumerism in the decoration of the home. Home decor is an artform within itself and can have a positive impact on the environment when the homeowner is conscious of what they use to fill their home.

Working in a craft store, Rose experienced firsthand the rapid trend cycles and over consumption of art used to fill people's homes. This made her want to think about how people can be ethical and conscious in what they purchase, to both avoid over consumption as well as have pieces in their home that are environmentally conscious. All of this culminated in the concept of people using plants to decorate their homes.

There was a trend for a bit recently of using fake vines to decorate your room. A trend that was somewhat short lasted, and in no way positive for the environment. In her reading, Rose found many examples of using natural plants to help the environment. This comes in the form of not only being conscious of having plants in the home, but also being aware of what plants are local and will positively impact one's local environment.

In her collage, Rose incorporated an example of the trend of using plastic vines in one's room for décor, and juxtaposed this with art from Alexandra Daisy Ginsberg’s Pollinator Pathmaker, 2022, Digital Rendering, and the Eden Edition Garden in Bodelva, photographed in July 2022. Both of these are examples of plants being purposefully used to promote the local ecosystem, a concept that Rose urges people to bring into their homes.

Rose also incorporated images of Selections from Prouve’s House and Studio, Photographs, and 530 Dwelling were extended with winter gardens, Photograph, 2017, which are examples of how nature and plant life can be integrated into the home. These both show how nature can benefit the home and how incorporating nature in the home can work to benefit the local of where one lives.

Overall, Rose's project hopes to make people more conscious of their consumption. It also means that, in doing so, people will become more conscious of their local ecosystems and the idea of being able to support them within their home.
